Jenis-jenis Phobia

Pada suatu malam yang sunyi, Didin merasa sangat ketakutan. Saat itu dia sendirian di rumah yang sempit, juga listrik padam. Saking takut, seluruh tubuhnya banjir oleh keringat, nafasnya cepat mendesah-desah. Matanya dicoba untuk dibelalakkan, tetapi memang malam itu begitu gelap. Akhirnya, mau tidak mau, walaupun dia seorang laki-laki, menelepon lah ia ke teman-temannya. Dia sampaikan keadaannya dan untungnya, teman-temannya mengerti. Namun dari kejadian ini, terkuaklah jenis rasa takutnya, sehingga untuk temannya yang mengerti, tentu dia akan segera menolongnya. Akan tetapi bagi yang senang usil atau bahkan yang sentimen kepadanya, hal ini bisa mereka jadikan sebagai senjata untuk melemahkan dirinya.

Bila kita melihat situasi diatas sungguh, penulis menilai itu merupakan keadaan yang sangat tidak menyenangkan. Dalam kehidupan, tentu saja setiap manusia pernah mengalami masa-masa dimana mereka merasa takut akan sesuatu. Seperti contoh si Didin di atas, dia mengalami rasa takut saat dia berada dalam ruang sempit dan juga takut saat berada di tempat gelap.

Di bawah ini adalah istilah-istilah yang dipergunakan untuk menunjukkan jenis-jenis rasa takut/phobia:
• Claustrophobia : takut berada di ruang yang sempit.
• Achluophobia : takut di dalam gelap.
• Mysophobia : takut dengan kuman atau kotoran.
• Necrophobia : takut dengan jenazah.
• Entomophobia : takut dengan serangga.
• Hemophobia : takut melihat darah.
• Acrophobia : takut di ketinggian.
• Astraphobia : takut disambar petir.
• Nucleomitiphobia : takut dengan bom nuklir.
• Thanatophobia : belum bertindak sudah takut mati.
