Go green! Assalamu’alaikum wr.wb The honorable judges, ladies and gentleman, and my fellow students. May Allah blesses us all. Amin. I send grateful to Allah SWT who has given us so many blessings and permitted us to gather here in good health so we could meet each other to compete, to challenge our skill and to sharpen our mentality, fairness and creativity. Ladies and gentleman, Allah created our world with extraordinary orderly fashion with complete content of it. Allah, the most affectionate, told us in our Holy Qur’an that He created human beings to be able to talk, He created plants and trees to bow before Him, He made the sun and the moon to go round based on perfect calculation. He created the balance, and you all must not destroy the balance, and must keep the balance fairly and must not reduce the balance. Ladies and gentleman, It is so clear that Allah created the Earth and its content very perfectly, orderly, disciplined, systematically and works or runs unstoppingly and without hesitation only for keeping the balance. It is the balance of life, the balance of environment, and the balance of faith. That’s why we must preserve our Earth to make it clean, green, and natural. Dear friends, It is important to go green because Allah created the Earth for mankind. It’s not a good behavior if we’re indifferent with our Earth. The Earth is getting old and fragile, let’s go green. Don’t let global warming. The one destroying the Earth is human, so the one responsible for fixing it is human as well. It’s easy to go green. How? It’s “one student one tree program”. If our school has 174 students, there will be 174 trees plus 5 trees from each teacher. If there are 15 teachers, it means 5 multiplied by 15 equal to 75. Then 75 trees from teachers plus 174 trees from students, there are 249 trees. We can grow 249 trees at school and our school will be green, fresh, and natural. And what things to do after that? We must keep them, water them, and love them. Allah loves beauty. That’s all from me. Please forgive for my mistakes, and one more time, Let’s go green. Wassalaamu ‘alaikum wr, wb.

FAREWELL SPEECH AFTER VISITING A COUNTRY

Good …………. Hi, my name’s ………………… I am one of the students of Sumber One Secondary School of Cirebon. It is a very great honor for me to speak in front of you all. After experiencing and witnessing the true Singapore, I have a disturbing question in my mind. Can we strive to be like that? I am very amazed of Singapore. The transportation system here is very good, the streets are very well arranged, the people are very disciplined, the education system is advanced, and the country is very clean. Singapore is a developed country and that’s the fact. Though it is only a small island near the Malacca Strait, Singapore can prove to the world that its people are ones of the best. They are discipline, hard working, friendly, and law abiding citizens. The people here are very wealthy. The unemployment rate is low. I am sure, these all because of the good system of the Singapore government. One interesting fact is the salary rate of the authority people of is the highest in the world. The nominal for each is jaw dropping. Thank you to internet for this information. I loved to be in here. I enjoyed life by knowing the country of Singapore. I hope this would not be the once in a lifetime experience for me. I wish I would visit Singapore for the second, the third, the fourth time someday in the future. This is the best gift I have ever had in my life. The unforgettable experience that I will share with my friends in my country. In this occasion, I would also send a huge thanks to everyone who has assist me during the program. I would be helpless without them. Thank you for the favors. Alasan Bahasa Inggris menjadi Bahasa Internasional

Bahasa merupakan sebuah prasarana yang paling penting dalam berkomunikasi. Seperti yang kita ketahui Bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa pengantar yang digunakan untuk berkomunikasi secara internasional. Muncul pertanyaan: Mengapa harus Bahasa Inggris? Mengapa bukan Bahasa Indonesia? Ternyata bahasa yang dijadikan sebagai alat komunikasi secara internasional itu didasarkan pada perkembangan jumlah kosa kata yang ada dalam bahasa tersebut. Hal inilah yang mungkin menjadi salah satu alasan mengapa Bahasa Inggris dijadikan sebagai bahasa Internasional. Bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa tertua yang ada di dunia dan berasal dari dataran Britania yaitu sekitar abad ke-8. Selain itu Bahasa Inggris juga merupakan bahasa tertua yang ada di dunia. Bahasa Inggris mempunyai perkembangan kosa kata yang sangat pesat menurut tim riset gabungan peneliti Harvard University. Google mencatat penambahan kosa kata bahasa tertua di dunia itu mencapai 8.500 kata pertahun. Kini jumlah total telah mencapai 1.022.000 kata. Itu merupakan jumlah kosakata yang jauh lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan bahasa di negara kita. Menurut Pusat Bahasa Kemendikbud yang baru- baru ini telah menerbitkan KBBI (Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia) edisi ke empat, jumlah kosa kata yang terdapat di dalamnya hanya berkisar 91.000 kosa kata. Kamus edisi ke empat ini merupakan pengembangan dari edisi sebelumnya yang hanya mencakup 82.000 kosa kata. Memang perkembangan jumlah kosa kata inilah yang menjadi patokan layak atau tidaknya sebuah bahasa dianggap sebagai bahasa internasional. Namun jangan khawatir, walaupun bahasa persatuan kita belum sepenuhnya menjadi bahasa internasional, belakangan ini telah muncul di kalangan negara negara ASEAN untuk mencanangkan Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa ASEAN. Hal ini telah diungkapkan pada saat KTT ASEAN di Bali beberapa bulan kemarin. Pemilihan Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa ASEAN ini disebabkan Bahasa Indonesia mempunyai kekayaan kosa kata yang jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan negara lain di ASEAN. Selain itu semangat kita untuk mencintai dan mengembangkan Bahasa indonesia harus tetap membara. Seperti yang pernah dicontohkan Presiden Soeharto yang kemanapun beliau berada di forum internasional pasti selalu menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia. The Legend of Mount Tangkuban Perahu

Once upon a time, there was a beatiful lady named Dayang Sumbi who had a boy named Sangkuriang. When Sangkuriang was old enough to hunt, he was asked to hunt with Tumang which actually his father who transformed be a dog. “Mom, I will give a deer’s liver to you” promised Sangkuriang. “Huff…. Hufff” barked Tumang. Sangkuriang and Tumang started to hunt a deer. After hunting all day with empty-handed, Sangkuriang worried. Thinking shortly, he took his arrow and shot Tumang and took the liver, then went home. At home sangkuriang gave the liver to his Mom. But dayang Sumbi relized that it was not deer’s liver but dog’s liver, Tumang. She got anger and she hit Sangkuriang by a spoon. She sent her son away with a big wound on his head. Then Sangkuriang travelled around the world till he arrived back to his village without recognized it. In there he met a beautiful lady who actually his mother. Sangkuriang and the beautiful lady fallen in love each other and decided to marry. But leter Dayang Sumbi realized that the man who she loved was her son. And then Dayang Sumbi asked him two things. “if you want to marry me, please make a big lake and a boat in one night” request Dayang Sumbi. “OK, If you want them” Sangkuriang agreed. Then he built a lake by dammed Citarum river and made a boat. Worried Sangkuriang will finish them all,Dayang Sumbi prayed to the God. Then eastern horizon lit up and the morning came. Thought his effort was useless. Angrily, he kicked the boat so it up-side down. Then the boat become a mountain which well known as Tangkuban Perahu mountain. Tangkuban means up-side down and Perahu means boat.
